On November 9, 2024, the official spokesperson for the Coalition Forces, Brigadier General Turki Al-Maliki, reported the killing of a Saudi officer and a non-commissioned officer, with another officer injured, as a result of a "treacherous and cowardly" attack inside a coalition camp in Seyoun, eastern Yemen.

General Al-Maliki explained that the attack occurred on the evening of November 8, during a physical training session at the coalition camp, which supports legitimate Yemeni forces and assists the First Military Region in combating terrorism and smuggling while also aiding humanitarian and developmental efforts within Yemen.

He stated that the assailant was affiliated with the Yemeni Ministry of Defense, emphasizing that this individual does not represent the honorable members of the ministry who recognize the positive and crucial role played by the coalition forces in supporting Yemen's legitimacy and alleviating the suffering of the Yemeni people.

The general confirmed that the bodies of the deceased officers and the injured party have been evacuated to Saudi Arabia.

Al-Maliki noted that the joint forces will coordinate with the Yemeni Ministry of Defense to pursue an investigation into the incident to determine the motivations behind the attack and to apprehend the perpetrator for justice.

Several media outlets and activists reported on November 8 that two Saudi officers were killed and another injured by a soldier named Mohammed Saleh Al-Arousi in the First Military Region in Seyoun, although no official details regarding the circumstances or motives of the incident have been released.
