A low-pressure weather system is expected to bring widespread rainfall across much of Yemen in the coming days, according to the National Center of Meteorology and Early Warning. The system, which already impacted Socotra Island with heavy to moderate rain, is projected to intensify, affecting several coastal and inland regions.

Numerical weather models indicate that Mukalla, Al-Ghaydah, and parts of Mahrah and Hadhramaut governorates will experience moderate rainfall Wednesday evening and Thursday morning. By Thursday evening and Friday, the system's impact is expected to broaden significantly, encompassing Aden, Shabwah, Lahj, Al-Dhale, Abyan, coastal areas of Mahrah and Hadhramaut, and parts of Marib, Al-Bayda, Sana'a, Al-Jawf, Ibb, Taiz, Al-Mahwit, and Raymah.

The National Center of Meteorology and Early Warning forecasts scattered rain with occasional thunderstorms in the Socotra Archipelago, the Gulf of Aden, eastern and southern coasts, and adjacent inland areas. Cold temperatures are anticipated overnight and early morning in Saada, Amran, Sana'a, Dhamar, and Al-Bayda governorates, with minimum temperatures ranging from 4 to 8 degrees Celsius. Relatively cold conditions are also expected in the highlands of Ibb, Lahj, and Abyan.

The center issued a yellow warning advising against venturing into valleys and wadis (dry riverbeds) in areas expected to receive rainfall. Residents in mountainous and highland regions, particularly children, the elderly, and those working outdoors, are cautioned to take precautions against the cold weather during night and early morning hours.
