On December 14, 2024, the Arab League issued Resolution No. 9084, condemning ongoing Israeli crimes against the Palestinian people. The resolution, titled "Continued Crimes of Aggression, Genocide, Displacement, and Starvation Committed by Israel Against the Palestinian People," was adopted during the 162nd regular session of the Arab League Council at the ministerial level, presided over by Yemen's acting permanent representative, Ali Mousa.
The meeting included participation from Assistant Secretary-General of the Arab League, Ambassador Hossam Zaki, and permanent representatives and heads of delegations, according to the official Saba news agency.
The resolution emphasized the need to implement related Arab decisions aimed at halting Israeli aggression, genocide, and ethnic cleansing, particularly concerning the starvation of civilians in Gaza. It also called for international support to suspend Israel's participation in international organizations and deemed its continued aggression a blatant violation of international law.
Furthermore, the resolution backed the efforts of the ministerial committee arising from the joint Arab-Islamic summit, chaired by Saudi Arabia, and advocated for the implementation of a two-state solution in cooperation with the European Union and Norway.
Since October 7, 2023, Israel, with U.S. support, has been accused of committing acts of genocide in Gaza, resulting in over 151,000 Palestinian casualties, the majority of whom are women and children. Additionally, more than 10,000 are reported missing amid widespread destruction and famine, marking one of the world's worst humanitarian disasters.
