Marib, Yemen – A family from Marib province has called on authorities in Aden to assist in the search for their son, who has been missing for 70 days while preparing to travel to Saudi Arabia.
In a statement shared with Barran Press, the family detailed that 22-year-old Qa'id Saleh Abad Abdullah Al-Shuwaina', a fourth-year student at the University of Al-Jawf, disappeared in Aden on October 8, 2024. He was in the city to finalize visa arrangements for his upcoming trip to Saudi Arabia.
The family explained that Al-Shuwaina' traveled from Marib to Aden on October 8 to handle his work visa application. On the evening of October 9, he contacted his father, informing him that he would be staying at a hotel in Sheikh Othman and would continue with his procedures in Tawahi the following morning.
That was the last time the family heard from him, as his phone has since been off, and their efforts to locate him have been fruitless.
Tragically, during the first week of searching for Al-Shuwaina' , his father and brother were involved in a car accident that resulted in the death of the brother and left the father with severe injuries, including broken bones and a month-long coma.
The family is urgently appealing to both the authorities and the public for assistance in locating their missing son. They urge anyone with information to contact them at the following numbers:
