Marib Press Conference Exposes Torture and Murder in Houthi Prisons

A press conference held in Marib on Saturday revealed harrowing accounts of torture and murder perpetrated by the Iran-backed Houthi group. The event, organized by the "Rasd" Organization for Rights and Freedoms, presented graphic evidence, including images and videos, documenting the brutal treatment that led to the death of detainee Mohammad Ali Al-Naseem.

Al-Naseem was subjected to severe torture, including electric shocks and beatings, following his abduction on January 25, 2020. He died on February 1, 2025, as a result of these abuses.

"Rasd" called upon international organizations, the UN, and the Yemeni government to condemn this crime and ensure that those responsible are brought to justice. The organization urged the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights to conduct an independent investigation and to pressure the Houthis to unconditionally release all detainees.
Jabr Saber, a journalist and Al-Naseem's nephew, detailed the suffering his uncle endured, including deliberate medical neglect and solitary confinement.

Al-Naseem's family has appealed to the UN and international bodies to document this crime and pursue legal action against those responsible, naming Abdul-Malik Al-Houthi and Abdel Qader Al-Murtada among those they hold accountable.
