Yemen's military leadership has issued a warning to the Iran-backed Houthi group against any further escalation of hostilities. A high-level military meeting, convened on Sunday, emphasized the readiness of the Yemeni Armed Forces to "deal firmly with any reckless adventures" by the Houthis.

The meeting, chaired by Rashad Al-Alimi, President of Yemen's Presidential Leadership Council, included the Joint Operations Authority and senior military officials. Discussions centered on the operational situation across various fronts and the combat readiness of Yemeni troops, according to the official Saba News Agency.

The meeting also addressed the impact of recent U.S. airstrikes on Houthi military sites, holding the group "fully responsible" for the escalation, which has drawn international sanctions, militarized regional waters, and exacerbated the already dire situation. Al-Alimi also stressed the importance of heightened vigilance against Houthi sleeper cells and associated terrorist organizations.

A subsequent meeting with the Supreme Security Committee centered on counterterrorism efforts and the security of liberated provinces. Officials addressed the implementation of measures following the Houthis' re-designation as a terrorist group, including strengthening border and infrastructure security to combat smuggling and organized crime. Al-Alimi called for rapid adaptation to evolving security threats, while ensuring the safety of national and international organizations operating within Yemen.
