A civilian was killed on Monday when a booby-trapped drone, allegedly belonging to the Houthi group, struck a piece of agricultural machinery in the Baihan district of Shabwah Governorate, eastern Yemen, according to a local source.

The source, speaking to Barran Press, stated that the explosive-laden drone targeted an excavator, resulting in the immediate death of its driver, identified as Ali bin Saeed bin Gabesh al-Sulaimani. The incident occurred in the western part of the Baihan directorate.

According to the source, al-Sulaimani was working on a local resident's farm situated between Al-Sa'diyyat and Al-Kura' areas, south of the Baihan Valley. The attack was reportedly launched by the Houthis from their positions in the Al-Bayda Mountains, which overlook the Baihan Valley. The drone strike not only killed the civilian but also caused damage to the agricultural equipment.

This incident marked the latest in a series of drone attacks attributed to the Houthi group, which has been designated as a terrorist organization by several nations.
