A member of Yemen's Presidential Leadership Council, Faraj Salmin al-Bahsani, has called for immediate and "decisive decisions" to secure the rights of Hadramout Governorate and restore order to the region. His remarks, posted on the "X" platform, come amid growing concerns over an escalating crisis impacting various aspects of life in the eastern governorate.
Al-Bahsani asserted that the people of Hadramout have reached a breaking point and can no longer tolerate the ongoing crises. He stressed the urgency of taking firm action to guarantee the governorate's entitlement to security, development, and dignified living, emphasizing the need to "set things right."

Highlighting the severity of the situation, al-Bahsani pointed to a deepening crisis that has cast a pall over daily life and pushed Hadramout towards near-total paralysis. He lamented the continued neglect, which he said is undermining the security and stability of the region.

Addressing the state and the Arab Coalition, al-Bahsani, both as a council member and a native of Hadramout, underscored their significant responsibility to translate the demands of the local population into tangible outcomes. He urged the adoption of radical measures to effect necessary change.
Al-Bahsani further emphasized that the current juncture demands resolute and courageous steps to meet the legitimate aspirations of Hadramout's people, contain rising tensions, and thwart attempts by what he labeled "suspicious" entities with links to terrorist organizations seeking to destabilize the governorate by exploiting the existing vulnerabilities.

He issued a stark warning about the worsening crisis in Hadramout, noting its direct impact on all facets of life and the resulting near-standstill.
In related developments, it was revealed that on May 10th, al-Bahsani had instructed the local authority in Hadramout to establish a development fund for the governorate. This fund is intended to safeguard revenues generated from the sale of locally produced oil and allocate them towards development initiatives and the crucial electricity sector.

According to a circular obtained by "Bran Press," al-Bahsani stated that these directives were issued in line with instructions from Presidential Council Chairman Rashad al-Alimi, who tasked him with directly overseeing the implementation of necessary solutions and the establishment of the Hadramout Development Fund.

The circular further detailed al-Bahsani's demand for the local authority's full commitment to establishing the fund and ensuring the deposit of all revenues from locally produced diesel and mazut, alongside the governorate's share of sovereign resources, without any exceptions or delays.
