The death toll from Israeli airstrikes that targeted the port city of Hodeidah on Saturday has risen to six confirmed dead, with three missing and 83 injured, according to Houthi authorities.

The escalation in casualties comes amid heightened tensions between Israel and the Houthi militia, which began on Friday when the group claimed responsibility for a drone attack in central Tel Aviv that killed one person and injured four others.

In retaliation, Israeli fighter jets launched airstrikes on targets near the port of Hodeidah, which Israel claims were military facilities belonging to the Houthis.

The strikes resulted in a massive fire at the port, with thick black smoke engulfing the area, according to circulating footage.

The incident highlights the escalating conflict between Israel and the Houthis, with the latest airstrikes marking a significant escalation in the ongoing tensions.
