The U.S. Embassy in Yemen announced that Ambassador Stephen Fagin met with Aidarus Al-Zubaidi, a member of the Presidential Leadership Council, to stress the importance of unity within the council.

In a brief statement shared on the embassy’s X account & reviewed by Barran Press, Ambassador Fagin discussed recent developments in Yemen and the region with Al-Zubaidi, highlighting the critical issue of unlawful detentions carried out by the Houthis against Yemeni employees working for United Nations agencies, NGOs, and diplomatic missions.

In the past two days, the ambassador also held separate meetings with other council members, Sultan Al-Arada and Othman Majli, where he reiterated the need for political unity to address Yemen’s economic and security challenges.
