A journalist source reported on Friday, November 29, 2024, that the Houthi group, which is internationally classified as a terrorist organization, is refusing to release journalist Fahd Al-Arhabi despite a significant deterioration in his health.

According to the Xinhua News Agency's correspondent in Yemen, Fares Alhemyari, Al-Arhabi has spent 100 days in the Houthi-run Security and Intelligence prison in Amran, facing what he describes as baseless accusations from the management of the Amran Cement Factory.

In a post on X, Al-Hamiri noted that Al-Arhabi's health is worsening, while the Houthi security apparatus continues to deny his release or referral to judicial authorities, as well as failing to provide information on the reasons for his detention.

In August, the Houthi security forces abducted Al-Arhabi, who had previously been kidnapped by the group due to his journalistic activities. He was first seized in July after reporting on the storming of a wedding venue.

The Houthis had previously removed Al-Arhabi from his position as media officer at the Amran Cement Factory and suspended all his financial entitlements after he defended the factory's clay quarry from seizure by a fictitious organization called "Nibras Charity," which is headed by the brother of Mahdi Al-Mashat, the head of the Houthi Political Council.
